THE DUSTY DEBATE CONTINUES...

Over at espn.com, Steve Phillips talks about why Dusty Baker should not be fired. It's apparent to me that he has not watched the Cubs play for an extended period of viewing. He sticks to the no Prior, Lee, etc. argument.

It's also worth noting that when the Astros and Marlins made recent in-season managerial moves they had plenty of success and justification for doing so.

Baker is in the final year of his contract. If you don't plan to re-sign him, why keep him now? Isn't it that simple?

Oh. Thanks, Steve. That makes so much sense now. I hadn't thought of the posibility that without Wood, Prior and Lee the Cubs would struggle.

You moron.

I assume there was no mention of the fact that Dusty is always tough on his young pitchers, which may have led to some of the problems of Wood, Prior, etc.
