MAJERUS, FRANCIS, PRIOR & MORE

Apparently I haven't been missing anything when it comes to Rick Majerus doing color on ESPN. The Critical Fanatic takes him to task for his lousy performance. His rant is a little over the top, but now I want to watch just to see how goofy Majerus is on the broadcasts. Remember, this is the same guy who said he hoped for more shots of Ashley Judd so he wouldn't have to pay for movies later that night. Stay classy.

The Tribune today reports that the Cubs have Mark Prior on a 'gradual throwing program'. The rest of the Cubs hurlers have been engaging in some fierce games of dodgeball. Or not. Isn't everyone on a 'gradual throwing program' in Spring Training? That's a certainty like every player either losing 15 lbs. or gaining 15 lbs. of muscle. Just curious though: how is it that a 6'5", muscular pitcher with perfect mechanics needs to stay out of some drills after 4 months off? Should the Cubs really wonder why people are skeptical?

This is rich. The Knicks are very close to trading Jamal Crawford and Mo Taylor for Steve Francis. Steve Francis and Stephon Marbury in the same back court. What will Isiah think of next?

The T-Wolves mustered only 78 points last night against the porous D of the Wizards. They are now 23-30. John Paxson--get on the phone and get KG here. Gordon, Chandler and a pick should do it. Maybe throw in Tim Thomas. With the exception of Ben Wallace, there are no big men of note that will be free agents after the season. Get KG. Sign Michael Finley. Grab another big man with your remaining first round pick. Then let's rock and roll. KG has 3 years left on his deal after this season. How exciting would it be to have him here in Chicago?

2006-2007 Chicago Bulls:
  • Kevin Garnett
  • Michael Finley
  • Kirk Hinrich
  • Chris Duhon
  • Luol Deng
  • Andres Nocioni
  • Othella Harrington
  • Malik Allen
  • Mike Sweetney
  • Darius Songaila
  • Eddie Basden
  • Eric Piatkowski
  • Rookie Big Dude

Regarding Prior, Dusty Baker said, "You can't believe a report unless it comes from us. If it doesn't come from us, it doesn't count."

That's a direct quote, and has to be one of the most blatant "who ya crappin'" remarks ever made--which is sayin' something, considering Dusty and the Cubs have set the bar so high (low?) for untruths and obfuscations.

No one will say once and for all that there are no health issues, just a lotta mumbling about getting ready for the first week of the season--which is so obviously what EVERY player in every camp is doing, that if they have to state that as a goal, there must be some doubts about his health. Whatever, he's a fraglie little wimp in my book already--just effin' pitch already.
