JERRY ANGELO: QB ILLITERATE?

From Mike Nadel of the Copley News Service:

"But there is a reason Bill Parcells cut (Chad Hutchinson), a reason 30 other teams ignored him as he sat on the waiver wire for weeks, a reason he went 1-4 as starter last year. Bet on Bear Country calling for Hutchinson to be benched in favor of Orton by the end of September. If not by the end of August.

Since coming to Chicago in 2001, Angelo either has passed on or opted not to seriously pursue the likes of Warner (twice), Johnson, Drew Bledsoe, Brian Griese, Jeff Garcia, Byron Leftwich and Kyle Boller while signing Quinn, Kordell Stewart and Henry Burris. All that after spending more than a decade overseeing QB follies as a Tampa Bay executive."

I might add that Shaun King succeeded, but only with one of the best defenses ever. Jerry Angelo is signed through 2008. That's when Rex Grossman will play his 12th NFL game and Cedric Benson will get his first carry. Game 1 is not even here and there is already mass frustration for Bears fans.
