TIME TO FREAK OUT: ONLY 159 GAMES LEFT

Sox fans are already in a tizzy. They lost a one run game. Freddy Garcia's velocity is down. Will Konerko hit? Neal Cotts got shelled. People--deep breath--relax. If Cotts gets shelled 5 times out of 7, If Garcia doesn't break 90 MPH in his next 4 starts, If Konerko doesn't hit until May and if they continually lose one-run games, then by all means have yourselves a real nice freak out party. Even a binge.

The only thing that I'm concerned about right now is the radio call. I miss John Rooney so much. What's worse is he went to the Cardinals. That could be their best free agent signing of the offseason.

Oh yeah--Redbirds are 2-0. Cubs fans--Freak Out!!

Announcers do make a profound difference. I'm still grieving over the loss of Steve Stone and Chip Caray on WGN.

Phillies should have beaten the Cards last night. They had bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth and choked.

I don't know how to edit a comment after posting it so I'll just add one thing. Everyone, please pray for Zoner's grandmother who is in intensive care. Grandmas are special gifts from the hand of our Heavenly Father.

Thanks Tom. And it's funny--after a whole season I am still not used to Bob and Len.

Read somewhere how the Cardinals fans, though not really knowing what they were getting with John Rooney, are pleasantly surprised and already have taken a liking to him. How often does that happen...fans actually LIKING an announcer in the first year or so of a deal?

I've yet to experience that here in Chicago. Of course, I'm still having trouble getting over the departure of Jim Durham.

"Rimming...no. Rebound Woolridge...out to Dailey free-throw extended right puts up and in. Quentin Dailey has it stuck on automatic..." Ahh, those were the days...
