ZONER'S MONDAY MORSELS

So Antwaan Randle El could not resist Dan Snyder's big money offer and he is off to play for the Skins. Who can blame him? Apparently the Bears are setting their sights on Lions KR Eddie Drummond. I can't think of any kick returner who signed elsewhere as a free agent and made a big impact. Drummond had no TDs on returns last year after having 4 in 2004. He has all of 2 catches in his 4 year career.

I could like the Bears signing him--depending on the dollars. But you can win the Super Bowl without a dominant returner. I'd rather them throw those dollars at a solid veteran WR.

The Redskins now have 4 solid receivers after getting Illini alum Brandon Lloyd from the Niners. Maybe Randle El will earn all those dollars playing QB after Mark Brunell gets hurt walking his dog. To the morsels...

→ Here we go. We have more Cubs garbage to report. Todd Walker says Dusty told him he would start at 2nd Base on Opening Day. Bake says he doesn't recall that and he doesn't even know who is starting for the Reds that day. (Note to Dusty: It's Aaron Harang. Check out a website or something.) Walker has further intersting insights here. Oh boy. Walk says, "Believe it or not, they don't always tell you the truth." We believe it Walk. It's why Cubs blogs exist.

→ You might want to check this out: a new website from the government detailing the steps to take in case of an attack.

→ Fight back! Or at least read about it and get real mad. Visit the site for Citizens Against Government Waste. That name inspires so many jokes that I'll just let you think of your own and chuckle to yourself.

→ Dwyane Wade or LeBron James? Not a crazy question at all. Sam Smith tells us what GMs think.
