No morsels this week due to injury. Note to self: do not take charges from 6'4" hulking men. Bruised ribs is one of the most painful injuries I have ever had. Vicodin helps. Just call me Brett Favre.
So it seems the Knicks think they can win by compiling a roster full of bad former Bulls. Jalen Rose is the latest along with Jamal Crawford and Eddy Curry. Well they are not bad players, but certainly not team oriented. Or solid defensively. The Knicks are quite possibly the worst team money could ever buy, and it's shocking to see them at 14-37 with Larry Brown as their coach.
Before the season started, if you would have told me a roster composed of Curry, Crawford, Marbury, Frye, Quentin Richardson, Mo Taylor, Antonio Davis and others being led by Larry Brown would be 14-37 and have the 2nd worst record in the East I would have said no way.
Only Seattle and Toronto allow more points per game. But on offense those 2 teams average more than 100 per game. The Knicks do not. They have the 5th worst opponent FG%. They are dead last in assists and lead the league in turnovers. Recipe for disaster, indeed, and I wonder how much Larry Brown can take. I also wonder how Isiah Thomas keeps getting employed. He has the reverse midas touch.
The Knicks have not won 40 games since 2001. Their poor record won't even get them a reward in the draft--the Bulls own their pick from the Curry deal. Apparently they thought it would not be worth much. The Bulls could get the number one overall pick now. They do own the Spurs 1st rounder, but that won't get them what they need. Saddled with bad contracts and overrated and older players, the Knicks look to be bad for a long time. Rejoice.
