So Dusty says Murton might start in '06 unless they "go and get someone". (Full post is here.)

"Murton has done well," Baker said. "As for starting, that depends on if we go get somebody this winter.

If "going to get someone" means free agency, then it seems Murton is the best candidate, unless you plan on offering big money in long-term deals. I cannot find salary information for Murton, but I can't imagine in being more than $400K.

Here's a list of some of the available OF FAs after the season ends:
Kevin Millar
Nomar Garciaparra (I could see the Cubs moving him to left--it's a Cubs thing)
Todd Walker (See above)
Reggie Sanders
Hideki Matsui (must sign by 11/15 or be waived, if clears waivers he would be FA)
Carl Everett (Team Option)
Craig Biggio
Preston Wilson
Todd Hollandsworth
Jacque Jones
Bernie Williams
Johnny Damon
Kenny Lofton
Sammy Sosa (hehhehheeehe)
Larry Walker (Team Option)
Matt Lawton
Brian Giles

So there's the list. And if you are going to throw around cash, it better be at some pitching. Left Field is fine. Need arms.
