HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIO!!

Happy 47th birthday to the incomparable Julio Franco. Julio was great as a member of the 1994 White Sox, one of my all-time favorite teams. That club went 67-46 under the steady (sleepy?) leadership of Gene Lamont. I believe that team would have won, or at least represented the AL in the World Series that year--if they played one. He had 20 HR, 98 RBI and hit 319/406/510=916. And after the strike he went to play in Japan. He's been back since '97, and has been a great player for the Braves since 2001. He says he wants to play until he's 50. Why not? This year he's 299/359/503=862 with 9 HR in 187 ABs. You think an old man might start to fade a bit come the dog days of August. Not Julio. He is 11-27 with a 1.060 OPS this month. Can't wait to watch him in the playoffs. Read Tim Kurkjian's salute to the man here.

Noticed that you put up the Elia tirade. Any chance you have Ron Santo after Brant Brown dropped that pop fly in '98 against the Brewers? Would love to hear that again
