No matter the conclusion to the Cubs season---bad vibes currently---one thing will remain joyous. Watching Greg Maddux. He had a vintage Maddux performance last night to pick up win 307. He struck out 10 batters. One of my favorite transactions over the last few years was the return of Maddux to the Cubs. He's been great, though not the Maddux of old. I hope he stays here after this year. Whether he would want to or not is another story. Why Maddux or Clemens would retire is beyond me. It surely wouldn't be about skill. They are both having great seasons.
